last week went to no black tie to see the performance from chika asamoto, a sax player all the way from tokyo. My friend reserved a place, and it was at the ground floor, which was very cramp, so we requested for the upper floor, but it was full, so we have to settle with what we got.
ok, so the show started with a performer from brazil known as Valtinho Anastacio. From the first look, he looked abit weird, like some drifter. lol. Anyway, the show started and the dining area was filled with some jungle-like environment sound. So I wondered how they made the sound? Then I saw an Apple Macbook behind... LOL. But after that, i think that the sound was made by the pianist on the stage. hmm... Oh, the sound system is good, saw the huge BOSE speakers. Even the small ones cost a bomb to buy.
Valtinho introduced the performers one by one, and finally, Chika showed up. She was honoured to play along side Valtinho as she said he was very famous performer. Then she thanked the sponsor Piper Heidsieck, a Champagne house from France, to organize this event. And ask us to try it. Try? It cost RM 399, and comes with Salmon sushi, but, hell, no way. We just ordered a bucket of Heineken, which only cost RM 60. Sufficient for 3 of us.
Valtinho played some cool toys (they looked more like toys than instruments). I couldn't recalled their names, but one of them can make the sound of a train. Holy hell, if only I can get my hands on one of those. We were damn impressed by that 'thing'.
Chika performed the sax well, and the pianist is also terrific. Of course, there was also a guitarist, known as Xiong (I guess), who is all the way from Jalan Alor, KL, as introduced by Valtinho, and everyone laughed. We got japan, brazil, columbia, and now what? Jalan Alor KL? lol.
We did not finish the show, guess it might end some time around 2am or 3am. So we left roughly 1am and went to SS2 murni. Service there was fast, but food, imho, so-so only. i still like banana.
