knowing

Well, Nicholas Cage, a vetaran actor who has good acting skills and personally, I like his movies alot, I always got an impression that his movies are always good (pls dont count in Bangkok Dangerous). And now, he has another new movie called Knowing, which was the second show I watched for today.

Hmm, somehow Malaysia seems to have a diff poster?

I remember seeing the advertisement for this show in tmn tun and I thought it was about 911 or something (yea, becos of that plane in there), but then I found out that it was about warning the future generation that some disasters will happen.

Ok, for this show, Nicholas Cage was just, erm. typical Nicholas Cage. Nothing less from his acting, and maybe just a little more. But that's about it. The true gem of this movie is the plot and how they arranged different scenarios. Everything was just right without over emphasizing. Of course, there are some cliche stuff like somehow that paper fell into the hands of an MIT professor, who can decipher the code in one night, and try to save the day.

BUT...
Alot movies tend to fail in the end, but not this. The plot just pack some punch in the end, and it delivers well, at least well enough for me. lol. Another thing I have to compliment is the effects, which was excellent. Oh my god, I just got excited when that damn plane crashed down on a normal day onto a jam-packed traffic. We dont get this kind of exciting stuff in our beloved traffic jam in KL, don't we?

So, I won't elaborate much further about this movie as it is worth watching in the cinema.

the unborn

it's weekend again, and i just installed Crysis onto my PC yday, it is one of the most demanding game for the PC to date and it really makes my PC looks like a piece of shit. lol. I guess my old processor bottlenecks it, my graphic card on the other hand, is good enough to handle this game at all medium graphic settings. Well, guess I will have to live with it for now.

Anyway, the game is almost completed, i guess, since I played whole day yesterday and some missions this morning, before I went to the movies. The plan for today was two movies, and first stop, we have The Unborn. Frankly, it is very hard to find ppl to go watch this kind of horror films these days.

The story started of with the lead actress jogging in the morning along the bridge and found a glove. First impression was, wow, chun chick. Then she met this little boy on the bridge and i just feel like laughing, as i pity the boy for having to take this kind of role. lol. but he sure did a good job.

Overall, the plot of the story was below average, I hoped that there will be some new stuff for me to see, but there were just too many cliche stuff. I can't believe it is trying to scare the audience by turning the dog's head upside down. Holy hell, wtf? And for fuck's sake, don't turn the wheelchair uncle's head upside down as well, oh boy... I just feel like crying at that moment. And I don't want to pay 10 bucks just to see those scary things that I can simply find on Youtube, heck, even Youtube's ones are better.

After the chun chick was having some images about that ghost. She consulted her long-lost grandma and her grandma told her that a dybbuk (lost soul) had possessed her grand uncle (the grandma's twin brother) in order to do something (i also not sure, either to return to this world, or use it as a tool to go somewhere). The dybbuk possessed one of the twins because twins were like a mirror of each other, and mirrors were always used as a gateway. (Ok... gateway... hmm...). Gateway to afterlife i guess.

Because the chun chick's great uncle was killed by her grandma because her grandma knew that he was possessed. The dybbuk remains in the bloodline of the family, to wait for a chance to return, as long as there was a twin in the family. The dybbuk supposed to succeed to return by possessing the chun chick's twin brother in the womb, but unfortunately, her twin brother died there and then. So, it was suspected that the dybbuk was looking for a substitute.

The initial predicted reason that the dybbuk came back at this time was because it was not strong enough to return after the last incident. So when it was fit again, it returned. But then, in the end, the true reason was because the chun chick was pregnant, bearing the twins of her boyfriend who died during her exorcism.

Anyway, that's where the story ends. Gosh, finally.

chun li!

i always tot chun li was a chinese. when i saw kristin kreuk acting the role of chun li, i just felt wtf? lol. so in the movie, it showed that chun li's dad married a gui po, hmm, so that explained everything.

overall, chun li in the movie, quite chun overall. lol. but some parts of the movie was quite stupid. lol. ok, i can accept balrog in the movie, but wtf with bison? walao eh... when he first appeared in the movie, i tot he was just some ke le feh, then when chun li's dad said: "Bison!" I startled. omg.. bison in a suit? wtf happen to his lan yao yeng military custome? lol. I guess maybe they want to make the movie as close as it can gets to reality, so they opt for a suit instead of a gay red military costume. ok fine, i am convinced, i think i rather see the guy in a nice suit instead of that costume.

but man, pls give chun li her costume. without that, it's just a pure waste of  her sexiness. yea, they do give her 2 buns on her head, but pls dun take away the costume, i dont think that's too much to ask for.

hmm, Gen was OK i guess. but what was cheng pei pei doing in the movie? special appearance only? lol. ok, now let's talk about vega. 4 letters---OMFG! I thought chun li will at least get hurt badly before she eventually defeat him, but then, hell no, vega was totally no match against chun li. chun li totally overkilled him. WTF?!! it was less than a minute, and bison said vega was his most capable assassin or something? holy hell. The movie makers should emphasize more on vega's capability, and not make him like a ke le feh.

there were other stupid parts in the movie as well, like chun li trying to seduce cantana, some woman partner of bison. omg, she is a les? lol. fine, she managed to seduce her and got the info she wanted. then chun li tried to flirt with a guy working at the docks to enquire when bison's package will arrive. the guy lied to him and chun li fell into a trap. fine, bison paid him to lie to her. but then why bison still leave him alive after that? and why didnt the guy lie to chun li for the 2nd time? i have no clue at all. lol.

anyway, chun li blew bison off the roof with kikouken, and snapped her neck with her leg. lol. how come bison din show his psycho crusher? in street fighter it can finish off half an opponent's life. shit. anyway, this movie was alright, except for those glitches i mentioned. i guess kristin kreuk managed to keep me happy throughout the movie. lol.
